After his sentence of a 5 year probation for domestic violence on his then girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown has hit out at Oprah for what he perceives as a lack of compassion from her. Here is a quote from his interview with People magazine:
“I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face,” Brown says of the show. “I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could’ve been more helpful, like, ‘OK, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”
Oprah’s spokesperson in response to his statements:
“Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.”
Yea, I mean, c’mon Chris, you literally beat the living shit outta your girlfriend and you want compassion? Just because you performed for Oprah in the past does not mean that you get a free pass and a pardon. Get some perspective.
